My name is Claudia Ruiz, lovingly known as Raven, and I am the storyteller behind the lens at Taken by Raven, a boutique fine-art studio nestled in Somerset, NJ.
My journey began long before I held a camera. As a child, I spent hours curled beside my grandmother, turning the delicate pages of our family albums. Each photograph captured the laughter, love, and the quiet magic of everyday life. Those moments sparked a lifelong desire to preserve beauty, emotion, and story in a way that would last forever.
With the support of my husband, children, family, and friends, I followed that calling and stepped fully into professional photography. Eight years later, this path has become a dream I get to live every day.
I specialize in painterly, fine-art Quinceañera and Sweet 16 portraits, creating images that feel soft, magical, and timeless. My style blends the elegance of a princess with the rich textures of fine art—crafting a look that feels both ethereal and enduring, like a page from a storybook brought to life.
